UNITED STATES CAPITOL DC ENGAGEMENT: AMBER & KIP

I met Amber and Kip on a chilly morning for this engagement session. We started at the Jefferson Memorial for some classic photos among the classical architecture. Once we had all the cold we could handle, we made our way across the National Mall. Then, I got an awesome private tour of the United States Capitol while we took more photos! It was pretty quiet in the hallways on this Saturday so we were able to grab quite a few cool shots in this historic building. During our session, their friends that arranged our entrance to the Capitol got engaged, which made for a very memorable day of photos!

MATERNITY SHOOT: STACEY & DAN

This was an impromptu shoot we did while on vacation with Erin's family. We wanted to get some maternity photos of Stacey with her husband, Dan. Using the phenomenal sunsets in Southwest Florida and the limited amount of gear we had brought with us on vacation, I think we got some pretty cool results!

GETTYSBURG WINTER WEDDING: CHRISTEN AND JONATHAN

As luck would have it, we had some decent snow the day before my only winter wedding near DC. As a bitter enemy of cold weather, I've always felt that as long as it's going to be cold out, it might as well be snowing! I really think that the snow helped Erin and I to get a little bit different look for this wedding and also made us focus on our interior shot lighting, so we could still get some unique photos.

Christen and Jonathan had a beautiful ceremony at the historic Chapel of the Immaculate Conception on the campus of Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, MD. The inside and outside were both wonderful places for portraits, although we were quick with our outside shots because it was chilly! The reception was held at The Lodges at Gettysburg, with a nice meal, dancing, and a huge fireworks show midway through.

Erin and I enjoyed spending our day with this thoughtful couple. Even though it was 2 degrees when we left Gettysburg, we were warmed by the thought that we were chosen to document all the special memories that would happen on their first day as husband and wife. We are thankful for clients like these!
